Stephanie Tyler has been in banking for over 15 years and is now the Cash Management/Merchant Services Manager with Shore Bancshares. Ms. Tyler is also the Co-Chair of the Scholarship Committee for the Chesapeake Women’s Network, so supporting her community by working with non-profits is not something new to her. She has expressed that she works well in a team environment and thrives on success. That attitude and her financial expertise make her a great fit for the United Way board!
Heather Bacher graduated from Salisbury University, with a Bachelor’s Degree, in 1998. She has been a resident of Queen Anne’s County since 2009, with her son Ryan. Since 1998, Ms. Bacher has worked in the banking industry. She has held positions as Branch Manager and Business Banking Relationship Manager and Team Leader. Currently, she holds the position of Market Manager for the Commercial Lending Group at Shore United Bank working with small businesses across the Eastern Shore of Maryland to understand their financial needs and provide lending and deposit solutions. She is also an active member of the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce, Chesapeake College Foundation Board, Chesapeake Women’s Network Board member and on the Committee for the Annual Bosom Buddies Ball. According to Heather, she is "personally invested in my community and making it an even better place to live and work. I find it personally fulfilling to give back and make a difference in the lives of others." We are thrilled she is striving to do that by being part of the board of the United Way of Queen Anne's County
Kerry Legg is the Operations Manager for FHN Insurance and was recommended to the board by present board member, Chad Helfenbein of Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home. FHN Insurance is a division of the funeral home and she does marking for both organizations. Kerry is a 1999 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School and received her Bachelors of Science in Business Management from Towson University in 2004. She’s been with FHN since November of 2007. Kerry is currently serving as the Vice President of the Chesapeake Women’s Network which means she has already worked with Ms. Tyler. She is also a member of the QAC Chamber of Commerce. Kerry, her husband Josh, and their children, Hayden and Jase, along with their dogs Rebel and Avery, currently reside in Henderson, Maryland. The United Way looks forward to Ms. Legg bringing fresh ideas and leadership skills to the organization!
Mrs. Comegys is a graduate of Saints Peter and Paul High School in Easton and has an agricultural business major from Delaware Valley College in Pennsylvania. Along with being the Marketing and Event Coordinator for Ebb Tide Tent and Party Rentals, she finds time to Co-Chair the Vision Group, which is a young professionals division of the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce. She is also involved in the Queen Anne’s County 4-H program with her young son. Heather is also a member of the American Legion Post 296 and the Kent Island Yacht Club.
Ms. Griffin has been a management team member at Harris Crab House for 18 years. She also volunteers with Bosom Buddies Charities and has raised funds with the Crabs for a Cure Crab Feast for 5 years. Jenny is also the Vice President of the Chesapeake Women’s Network. She has lived on the Eastern Shore for 26 years, and enjoys gardening, swimming and playing with her grandchildren.
Vicki Wood Dean is our second representative from CNB where she is currently a Branch Manager/Loan Officer for their main office in Centreville. Ms. Dean is a Queen Anne’s County native who graduated from Chesapeake College with an Associates in Business Administration and then went on to get her Bachelor’s in marketing from Salisbury University. Giving back to her community is something Vicki enjoys. Along with the United Way, she also serves as the Secretary/Marketing Coordinator for the QAC 4H Fair, is a member of the Centreville Rotary, and is a member on the Claws for a Cause committee. Her commitment to our county and her marketing experience is a perfect fit for the United Way!
Ms. Miller is a Maryland Parole Commissioner appointed by the Governor. She graduated from the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Jane has practiced law on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and has been active in Queen Anne’s County for many years. Before her state appointment, Jane had her own law office on Kent Island for 13 years and served as the Queen Anne’s County Bar Association President from 2001 to 2004. Jane also served as the President of the Chesapeake Women’s Network. Her leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment are all things that will serve the United Way well!
Margaret is a retiree of Chesapeake College where she worked for 26 years, mostly as a writing consultant in the Writing Center. As a volunteer, she has done costume design for college theatre and Church Hill Theatre. In film, she has worked in production design and has credits as a producer for three short films. She was a founding board member of Annapolis Film Festival and Chesapeake Film Festival where she produced festivals, serving as Executive Director for Chesapeake Film Festival. She has served on the Board of Directors of Bay Theatre Company of Annapolis and has written grants for the Community Players of Salisbury. Currently, she is employed as a grant writer for Talbot Partnership. Margaret is the proud mother of four children and grateful grandmother of seven. She resides in Stevensville with her husband Bob.
Sandra owns "Sandra's Office Support" and the United Way of Queen Anne's County is one of her clients. She has a background that includes book keeping, event planning, and is very familiar with non-profits. (She worked 6 years for the local Chamber of Commerce and the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department is another client of hers.)
Sandra is a member of the Chesapeake Women's Network and is a Past President. She also volunteers with a local group known as the Cancer Comfort Angels.
